Psychological Depression is one of the most severe mental health problems. Psychological depression can have different emotional and physical affects on an individual.   • Unsafe environment in family
  • Being overlooked by people, friends or close ones
  • Death of someone close

  • Frequently physical illness or feeling homesick

  • Sometimes hormonal changes also lead an individual to depression
  • Frequent intake of alcohol or drugs
  • Any financial problem.

Treatments for Psychological Depression

There are two types of treatments for psychological depression.

  • Psychotherapy
  • Medication

Mental disorder is completely curable and it does not require medicines all the time. Usually psychotherapy is preferred because sometimes medication has some side effects. Duration of psychotherapy varies according to the psychological depression and type of therapy. Psychotherapy includes sessions with counselor who will observe you and after knowing the cause of psychological depression treat you with correct therapy. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is one of the psychotherapy which helps you to improve thought process, corrects the fault and develops positive self assessment. There are many other therapies which will help an individual like interpersonal therapy, behavioral therapy etc.

Medication is also one of the ways to treat the psychological depression. Sometimes psychological depression or mental disorder happens because of the imbalance in the chemical of neurotransmitters of the mind which are responsible for the emotion of human. There are many different types of antidepressants are available in market but one should only use medicines if prescribed. Otherwise taking unknown pills could be harmful for your mental and physical health.

Sometimes doctors prefer both psychotherapy and medication to maintain the balance of your emotions and health. The correct treatment of psychological depression can cure a patient quickly.

A patient always needs the support of their family and friends which will upgrade their inner strength and confidence. The love of the closed ones makes them stronger and fills them with energy. Healthy environment will make the individual feel good and positive. These small things can make patient healthier and stronger.
