Fighting Depression

You know who is big enemy of human being. Yes, depression is big enemy of man and you have to fight with that. You have strength to fight with depression. We really are stronger than what we think.

When you have self-defeating thought, then sure you are in depression. In depression period you just focus on sadness. It is difficult to come out from depression. And reality is that you don't want to be depressed. So fight with it.

The best solution to fight depression is to keep busy. Your feelings are different than normal feelings when you are in depression. You don't want to do something. You want just lie on bed or just sit on chair. And if you are doing that, at that time self-defeating thought may come in your mind. Your mind goes in idle condition.

When you are doing some job or some thing, don't think about your problem. You have involved in that task. You may not like that task but force yourself to do it. Still you feel bad then get up and try to do some thing different that you like. You may feel better than previous.

Depression grows whenever your mind is in idle condition. For example, when you are eating, your mind in idle condition and at that time depression can increase. To avoid depression when you are eating, read something to keep your mind busy. Another to avoid depression when you are eating writes word on paper. Try to make sentences or new words from those words. For example, take word "weekend" from that word you can make word "week" and "end". You shall have a good feeling on that achievement. For a moment, you may seem like silly thing to do, but when you are trying to do, you will keep your mind busy.

Fighting Depression with Antidepressants

In our brain there is neurotransmitters. Neurotransmitters are chemical messengers that transmits signal in brain. Serotonin and norepinephrine are neurotransmitters. If there is deficiency between two neurotransmitters then depression can increase. By increasing serotonin and norepinephrine antidepressants correct this deficiency.

Antidepressants are of three types

  • Tricyclic Antidepressants
    Include Imipramine, Desipramine, and Doxepin.
  • Monoamine Oxidase inhibitors
    Such as Parnate, Nardil, and Marplan
  • Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors, including Prozac, Zoloft, and Paxil.
Aerobic Exercise for Fighting Depression

Aerobic exercise works faster than medicine for lift the depression. Exercise involves walking on a treadmill for 30 minutes every day up to 10 days.

Depression severity is measured at the beginning of program and even at the end. The intense activity, which was supposed to be done for three minutes, was alternately replaced with three minutes of walking activity. Also the walking was supposed to done at half the speed of normal walking. Patient can rate his or her mood at start, middle and end.

After 10 days sure some people feel less depressed. Antidepressant treatment takes 3 to 4 weeks whereas aerobic takes 10 days to better.

Fighting Depression with Herbal Way

Many herbal treatments have been used to mild depression. Hypericum perforatum is best herbal treatment in used.

Fighting Depression with Fish Oil

Fish oil is used as treatment for depression. For minimum three month you have to take 4 tablet per day for the oil to be fully absorbed in body. When you are use fish oil there is restriction on diet. You have to cut out all fatty acids. After four week you feel better. You will stop worrying. PuraEpa and EPA are common oil in use for treatment.
