Fighting Depression
When you have self-defeating thought, then it is sure that you are in depression. In depression period, you just focus on sadness. It is difficult to come out from depression. And the reality is that you don't want to be depressed. So fight with it. The best solution to fight with depression is to keep yourself busy. You feel very different when you are in depression. You don't want to do anything. You just want to lie in the bed or just sit on a chair thinking about something. And if you are doing that, at that time self-defeating thought may come in your mind. Your mind goes in idle condition. When you are doing some job, don't think about your drawbacks of not doing it. You should involve yourself in that task. You may not like that task but you are forced to do so. Still if you feel bad, then get up and try to do something innovative that you would definitely like. You may feel better than what you were feeling previously. Depression grows whenever your mind is in idle condition. For example, when you are eating, your mind in idle condition and at that time depression can increase. To avoid depression when you are eating, read something to keep your mind busy. To avoid depression again when you are eating is, to keep yourself busy in writing something on the paper. Try to make sentences or new words from those words. For example, take a word "weekend" and from that word you can make more words like "week" and "end". You will feel good after doing that. For a moment, you might feel a little silly on doing such childish things, but this time pass is anytime better than depressing yourself. Fighting Depression with Antidepressants In our brain there are neurotransmitters. Neurotransmitters are chemical messengers that transmit signals in the brain. Serotonin and norepinephrine are neurotransmitters. If there is deficiency of neurotransmitters in the brain, then depression can increase. By increasing the quantity of serotonin and norepinephrine antidepressants, it helps in fighting against the deficiency. Antidepressants are of three types
Aerobic Exercise for Fighting Depression Aerobic exercise works faster than medicine for lifting the depression. Exercise involves walking on a treadmill for 30 minutes every day up to 10 days. Depression severity is measured at the beginning of program and even at the end. The intense activity, which was supposed to be done for three minutes, was alternately replaced with three minutes of walking activity. Also the walking was supposed to be done at half the speed of normal walking. Patient can rate his or her mood at start, middle and at the end. After 10 days, it is for sure that some people feel less depressed. Antidepressant treatment takes 3 to 4 weeks whereas aerobic takes almost 10 days to feel better. Fighting Depression with Herbal Way Many herbal treatments have been used to mild depression. Hypericum perforatum is the best herbal treatment ever used. Fighting Depression with Fish Oil Fish oil is used as treatment for depression. For minimum three months, you have to take 4 tablets per day and the oil should be fully absorbed in the body. When you use fish oil, there is a restriction on the diet. You have to cut out all fatty acids. After four weeks, you feel better. You will stop worrying.
